Terms of Use

Business Town (the “App”) is operated by Aurelian Ocean Investment LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the App. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Please review these Terms before signing up. Your acceptance is recorded when you create your account.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. The service

The App lets you exchange digital business cards and share an approximate, privacy-masked location (“your town”) with contacts you choose. Your precise location is never shared; shared locations are deliberately masked and randomized before they leave your device, end-to-end encrypted, and may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable.

3. Provided “AS IS”

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any location, card, or other information will be accurate, complete, or current. You use the App at your own risk.

4. Not for emergencies or critical decisions

The App’s location feature is approximate and intended for casual, social use only. Do not rely on it for emergencies, safety, navigation, or any decision where inaccuracy, delay, or unavailability could cause harm. The App is not a tracking, security, or safety service.

5. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

You are solely responsible for your conduct and your content. You agree not to use the App to:

break any law or regulation;
harass, stalk, surveil, threaten, defame, or harm any person;
share another person’s information or location without their consent;
track, monitor, or locate minors or others without lawful authority;
impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation;
infringe any intellectual-property, privacy, or other right; or
interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the App or its security.

You will share your location only with people who have consented to connect with you, and you will stop sharing with anyone who asks.

6. Third-party conduct and content

Other users — not us — are responsible for how they use the App and for the content, cards, and locations they share. We are not responsible or liable for the acts, omissions, content, or misuse of any user or third party, including any unlawful use. Because shared locations are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot access, monitor, or moderate them. You can remove or block any contact at any time, and report concerns to support@businesstown.app.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AURELIAN OCEAN INVESTMENT LLC AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, OR FOR ANY HARM ARISING FROM: your use of (or inability to use) the App; the conduct, content, or location of any other user or third party; technical errors, bugs, downtime, or security incidents; or any inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable information. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Aurelian Ocean Investment LLC from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk or legal exposure. You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and your continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise subject to an agreed alternative process, and you consent to venue there.
